The project was born from the awareness that the start up phase of a new business is the most critical one and, consequently, it aims at intervening to support the development and the strengthening of women run companies, located in the Sicilian territory for at least two years, involving the social and economical characters which can determine the necessary conditions to favour the women employment with an equal opportunities perspective. The action will include two typologies of service : activities on the premises and activities from a distance.
The former will be accomplished by the advisers at the premises of the participant companies and has in plan assessment, analysis and strategic planning actions.
The latter, instead, will take place on an off line and on line modality which will allow the women entrepreneurs to enjoy the use of in-depth analyses about commercial, managerial, marketing, economical and financial aspects.

The positive action is addressed to two typologies of receivers:

• n.20 existing companies on the Sicilian territory, in particular in the province of Catania, with a female ownership and/or prevalence in the employee.

• The characters of the social and economical system.

Phase 1: feasibility studies
Phase 2: training course “developing entrepreneurship”
Phase 3: training course “techniques and methodologies for the company development and strengthening”
Phase 4: supervision, support and accompanying actions .
Phase 5: information actions
Phase 6: evaluation of the intervention and results circulation

The expectations linked to the planning programme relate to the following aspects :

• the consolidation of women run companies with the aim to sustain their permanence on the market
• overcoming the current gap suffered by the women run companies in the territory
• training and professional growth
• creating awareness in the women entrepreneurs on their social, economical and political role
• conferring greater communicative reliability to the woman entrepreneur figure
• creating stable links between the system and the entrepreneurial world and between the company policies and the real opportunities
• individualization of good practices able to produce cultural effects and innovative processes which can reflect positively on the orientation of the public institution.
