This project was financed by European Social Fund and promoted by the Minister fro Work and Social Policies, under the auspice of Law 125/91, which through positive action for gender equality intended to promote, by means of a diverse organisation as well as working condition and hours, a balance between family and professional responsibilities, and a fairer division of such respondibilities between the sexes. The proposed action, entitled "Network for gender Opportunities- Specialisation by the Province of Matera", sought to:
- make the most of promote the potential of female employment in business through training activities and developing the skills of Job Centre employees in the Province of Matera who deal with female users of their services;
- strengthen and encourage female partecipation in the labour market with particular attention paid to the types and characteristics of female employment
- respond to the different needs of those women looking for work

- Phase 2. Training and better exploiting the skills of those taking part
- Phase 3. Creation of a network for equal opportunities
- Phase 4. Awareness campaign
- Phase 5. Dissemination of results and good practices
- Increasing the employment of women through the acquisition ok skills of Job Centre employees
- Facilitating the matching of job offers with job seekers through a network of actors involved
- Developing awareness amongst local actors of the problems of gender inequality and gender mainstreaming in the workplace
