The "Positive Action for Gender Equality within the Matera Chamber of Commerce" was financed by the European Social Fund and promoted by the Minister for Work and Social Politicies, in accordance with Law n°125/91, and had as its objective the promotion of women workers in levels, roles and positions of responsability within organisation, and to render these jobs more accessible to women. The proposed action sought to create new organisational and personnel management instruments to help reduce the gap between the needs of businesses and workers. Female staff, taking into account their own personal and professional skills and profiting from a business that is run with their needs in mind, were able to take on career courses, all the time taking into account their roles as mothers and wives.

• Creating an organisational model for the C.C.I.A.A. by means og encouraging diversity and overcoming the difficulties associated with reconciling work, social and domestic responsabilities
