The "MED.IN.TRA.D.E." project, co-financed by the EC's Interreg III programme, concerns the improvement of the inter-modal transport infrastructures in the lower Adriatic and South- east Meditterranean regions. Recognising thet in spite of growing economic and cultural relations between Italy, Greece and Turkey thet the transport infrastructure is not used to its fullest potential in this hub of international goods and passenger transport, the Med.in.tra.d.e. project aim to improve existing transport infrastructure within the region, whilst reducing the entry barriers which are currently faced by borh private and public operators in the region concerned. At the core of this project is also understanding the increasingly strategic role of Southern Italy within the South-East Mediterranean region.
